Late Rally by Halberds Secures Win
|
The Alloway Halberds defeated the Hialeah Dodos, 3-2, in USSL Triple A action at Dodos Ballpark, with Alloway pitcher Jesús Cruz named player of the game. Alloway reliever Kerry Tenner picked up the win to move to 3-4. Richard Osborn suffered the loss. Getting the save was Lex Janssen, his 10th.
Alloway used the clutch hitting of Gidde Collin to capture the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Halberds ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Alloway manager Manuel Hernández said afterward.
Alloway is in 6th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 20-24.
