Díaz Stars for Dodos in 8-6 Win
|
The Hialeah Dodos defeated the Alloway Halberds, 8-6, at Dodos Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Hialeah was left fielder Jorge Díaz. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Hialeah reliever Wu-shiun Lao was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Frank Butler took the loss. Hakan Yilmanz nailed down his 3rd save.
Hialeah took a 7-3 lead on Díaz's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Zach Pinyerrel in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Hialeah to the win.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Díaz.
The third-place Dodos raised their record to 24-19.
