Grey Wolves Stumble, Lose to Rainbow Mermaids
It was a good time at Atlantica, where fans came to watch the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids get after it.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids stopped the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 8-4, at Atlantica. The Rainbow Mermaids got a big game from Phil McCroskey, who went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Yoriyoshi Sugimoto, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

The Grey Wolves had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Rainbow Mermaids going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Tim Stinson came to the plate. Stinson hit a run-scoring single on a 2-2 fastball from Vancouver hurler Yoo-chul Mun. It was Stinson's 12th hit of the year.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Stinson.

The Rainbow Mermaids, now 5-1, have stormed out of the gates.
