Young Excels, But Lake Monsters Win
|
Robby Young did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Syracuse Starks from losing, 8-7, to the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. Young went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Billy Grange closed the door for Vermont, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Vermont is 22-15 and Syracuse, with the loss, 12-25.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from designated hitter Cedric Terriquez. For the game, Terriquez went 1-2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Vermont a 7-6 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Terriquez.
