Halberds Walk Off with Win
Alloway withstood an impressive performance by Vermont catcher Du-yang Zhu to defeat the Lake Monsters, 8-7, at Ballpark of Alloway. Zhu was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Alloway reliever Zach Pinyerrel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Marnix van Rijn shouldered the loss. Alloway is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Alloway left fielder Juan Jimínez, facing Marnix van Rijn, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Halberds the 8-7 win.

"This game tested our mettle," said Jimínez.
