Alloway first baseman Govaart Baars was instrumental in his team's 7-4 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters. Baars, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in doubles with 10, went 2-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Halberds. Alloway starter Jesús Cruz was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. With the win, the Halberds improved to 15-19.

Baars had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Halberds went on to win.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Baars told the Alloway Today.
