The Alloway Halberds eked out a 2-1 win versus the Sacramento Redlegs at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Nobody did more than pitcher Bob Browning, who captured player of the game honors. The 9th-place Halberds raised their record to 12-17.

The outcome might have been different for Alloway, had it not been for Manny Gonzáles, the 33-year old catcher . Gonzáles stroked a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Alloway up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Feels good to get the job done," Gonzáles said after the game.
