Halberds Sneak Past Redbirds, 5-4

The Ballpark of Alloway faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Starting pitcher Jesús Cruz pitched well enough to help the Alloway Halberds beat the Memphis Redbirds by the score of 5-4. The Halberds have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 18 games.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Broderick Sarcoma came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Memphis pitcher Sheldon Whiteside, he hit a 1-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Alloway on top, 5-4.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Alloway manager Manuel Hernández. "It's usually not just one thing."
