A nice crowd turned out to see the Bakersfield Nobles and Brinkley Belugas clash at Belugas Ballpark.

Bakersfield beat Brinkley on the strength of starter José Sánchez's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 7-2 win. Sánchez picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3.

Bakersfield used the timely hitting of José Ruíz to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nobles on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We did a lot of things right," said Sánchez.
