Tight Tilt Goes to Hotspur Reserves, 2-1
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves got a magnificent performance from pitcher Abdel Alamini, who stifled the Memphis offense en route to a 2-1 Hotspur Reserves win at Thunderbirds Stadium. Alamini, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. The Hotspur Reserves keep rolling, raising their record to 7-4.
Denver, Colorado-born Paco González came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded and the Hotspur Reserves trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Phoenix on top.
"I was a little disappointed," said Memphis manager Elliott Taylor. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
