Halberds Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Alloway shortstop Scotty Smalls was instrumental in his team's 8-1 win over the Plymouth Rocks. Smalls went 3-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Halberds. Jesús Cruz earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed no earned runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. The Rocks drop to 5-5 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.

Alloway used the timely hitting of Manny Gonzáles to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Halberds on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
