Getting an impressive start from David Silva, Brinkley beat Scranton by the score of 3-1. Silva got the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Silva allowed 1 earned run. Ewan Atwood converted his 16th save in 19 tries.
Brinkley used the clutch hitting of Guy Toussaint to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Belugas ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was a solid team effort," said Toussaint after the game.
Brinkley is 5th in the Premier AAA with a record of 46-49.
