Longnecks Stun Tritons, 7-6
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Jersey City Tritons by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Brock Waxley. Waxley was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles for the Longnecks. John Walton earned the save, his 4th. The Longnecks are now 42-52, while the Tritons fall to 44-50.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Manuel Estrada to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Longnecks ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Estrada.
