Scranton Supernovas starter Gilberto Pontojá was in fine form against the Bloomington Longnecks at Nuclear Stadium, leading his team to a 6-2 win. Pontojá, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. With the victory, the Supernovas record now stands at 46-47.

The Supernovas beat the Longnecks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out triple António Casas produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Bloomington pitcher Henry Ross, Casas gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring triple.

"It was a solid team effort," said Pontojá after the game.
