The Brinkley Belugas got a sterling performance from right fielder Edgar Balerio, but the Tritons still prevailed, 3-1. Balerio was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Mac Hippenhammer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 13 save opportunities. Jersey City now sits in 6th place in the Premier AAA at 43-48.
Lorenzo Varela helped out the Jersey City cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Brinkley skipper Glenn Draper, "and it cost us."
