Bronze Sox Win at Scranton, 3-2
|
Texas right-hander Kevin Maughan made an effective start against the Scranton Supernovas at Nuclear Stadium, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Manuel Torres got the save, his 16th in 20 chances. Texas is 9th in the Premier AAA with a record of 36-50.
Texas used the clutch hitting of Mareka Naidoo to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bronze Sox ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Naidoo said.
