Tritons Come Up Short at Port Royal
|
The Port Royal Disaster did just enough to sneak past the Jersey City Tritons, 5-4, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Port Royal second baseman Javier López earned player of the game honors. Binjimen Victor picked up the save, his 18th. Port Royal now owns a record of 42-43.
López had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 cutter from Raúl Romero, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Disaster a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for López.
Despite the victory, López was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
