Golden Cranes Get Road Win, 7-5
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes downed the Memphis Redbirds, 7-5, at Lansing Park. The Golden Cranes were led by Rocky Zolman, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Tony Solíz finished the game for Santa Barbara and earned his 2nd save. With the loss, Memphis falls to 0-2.
Zolman put Santa Barbara up, 4-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Carlos Vargas in the top of the fourth. His 1st home run of the season helped the Golden Cranes capture the win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Santa Barbara manager Lockwood Rose.
