Nobles Stay Hot With 9-3 Win
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Bakersfield Nobles.
The Bakersfield Nobles powered past the Bloomington Longnecks, 9-3, at Lookouts Ballpark. Anselmo Berneu went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times, to lead the charge. Earning his 9th save of the year was Mark Robinson.
Bakersfield needed the clutch hitting of John Mayasich to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Nobles on top, 2-0. For the game, Mayasich had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Berneu said after the game.
The Nobles, now 54-27, have won 12 in a row.
