Disaster Win at Scranton, 3-1
|
Port Royal starter Darren Garland pitched effectively against the Scranton Supernovas at Nuclear Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Garland, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Binjimen Victor, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save.
Júlio Morín Jr. put Port Royal in front, 3-0, when he took Will Hoffman downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the top of the fifth. It was his 6th home run of the season.
"Enjoyed this one," Garland told the Port Royal Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Port Royal is now 40-41, while Scranton is 38-43.
