Redlegs Lose, 7-3, at Plymouth Quarry
|
Fans of the Plymouth Rocks who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Plymouth win over the visiting Sacramento Redlegs, 7-3. Jesús Fernández started for the home team against Alejandro Guerra. Broderick Evans earned the coveted player of the game honors. Tim Nesheim picked up the save for Plymouth, his 1st of the year.
Tumas Wenzu put Plymouth in front, 7-0, when he took Alejandro Guerra downtown. His grand slam home run came with two out in the bottom of the second. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Wenzu.
