Azwan Helps Lynx Beat Bronze Sox
|
The Calgary Lynx trumped the Texas Bronze Sox, 7-5, at Bronze Sox Park. Calgary left fielder Hani Azwan was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Greg Fontenot earned the win for Calgary. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 6-4. Bill Edmonds recorded his 3rd save for Calgary.
Azwan contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Calgary in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Azwan took a changeup from Earl Farley and stroked the home run to center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Lynx to leap in front, 5-3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Azwan.
At 32-46, the Lynx are currently last in the Premier AAA.
