Nobles Win Again, Extend Streak to 8
|
The Bakersfield Nobles extended their winning streak at Jerome Grounds.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Eisse van Opdorp, the Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Brinkley Belugas, 4-0. van Opdorp was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Nobles. Itsa Sandwich, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Raneem Zogby.
van Opdorp came through with some timely hitting for Bakersfield. With the score 0-0 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, van Opdorp hit a 1-2 fastball for a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season made it 1-0, Bakersfield.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bakersfield manager Zach King.
The Nobles, at 50-27, have now won 8 straight.
