Nobles Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
Port Royal first baseman Júlio Morín Jr. was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Bakersfield beat the Disaster, 7-5. Morín Jr. was named the player of the game despite the loss. Pavle Simic closed the door for Bakersfield, picking up his 4th save of the year. The first-place Nobles now have a 5-game winning streak.
Vaughn White, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Joe Louter for a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season put Bakersfield in front, 5-4.
"I like our mindset right now," said Bakersfield manager Zach King.
