The Brinkley Belugas topped the Bloomington Longnecks, 10-3, in USPL Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark. The player of the game was Brinkley pitcher Lawrence Lane. The win puts the Belugas at 35-34, while the Longnecks drop to 31-38.
The Belugas got a gift in the top of the eighth inning, when they were leading 3-2. With one out and the bases loaded, Luis García reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-2, Brinkley.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Lane said.
