The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats relied on the hitting of second baseman Kyle Mullens to stop the Virginia Beach Whales, 5-4. For the game, Mullens went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The 'W' lifts Lake Minnetonka's record to 18-14.

Mullens had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Stan Lowe, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Love Boats a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mullens.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Lake Minnetonka manager Culley Adjeng. "It's usually not just one thing."
