Darrah Hits 2 home runs in Disaster Win
|
The Port Royal Disaster beat the Jersey City Tritons, 5-4, at Jersey City Grounds. Port Royal first baseman Anson Darrah earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Port Royal reliever Christian Clayton was credited with the win, to go to 3-2. Alfred Osuch took the loss for Jersey City. The Disaster sit in 6th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 32-33.
Louie Kennard made it 5-4 in favor of Port Royal when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Disaster went on to win.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Darrah.
