Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Fog
|
Brinkley got a terrific performance from pitcher David Silva, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sunset District Fog. Sunset District won the Fog Park contest, 7-4. Silva was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The third-place Fog lifted their record to 33-29.
Sunset District won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Desiderio Toccafundo on the mound for Brinkley, pinch hitter Armando Cedeño hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Fog fans to their feet.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Cedeño.
