Youth Get One-Run Win at Lake Minnetonka
|
Youth second baseman Eugene McClellan put his stamp on his team's 7-6 win over the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats. McClellan was 2-4 with a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Phoenix Hotspur in the contest. Sean Neely earned the save for Phoenix Hotspur, his 9th of the year. At 17-11, the Youth find themselves in third place in the Silver AA.
McClellan had a game-changing triple in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Alan Halsall, he banged a bases-clearing triple to right-center, giving the Youth a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd triple of the year for McClellan.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Phoenix Hotspur manager Micheal Garren.
