Humpbacks Rally For Late Win Over Belugas
|
With catcher Chris Walters leading the charge, the Alaskan Humpbacks defeated the Brinkley Belugas, 3-2, at Sea World. Walters went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. The win was Ramon Wuilink's in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Bob Roth took the loss for Brinkley. The Humpbacks improve their record to 33-24 with the win over Brinkley.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Walters delivered big-time for Alaskan, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Wu-ti Xuan. The game-changing hit put the Humpbacks on top, 3-2.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Alaskan manager John Carney said.
