Tritons Topple Supernovas with Late Rally
|
Jersey City left fielder Phil Oostermeer was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Scranton Supernovas. Oostermeer went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tritons. Jersey City reliever Dou-guan Shao picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Kent Horton was saddled with the loss. Jersey City now has a 3-game win streak.
Jersey City used the timely hitting of David Elías to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tritons on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Oostermeer told the Jersey City Citizen.
