Victory Pushes Evergreens Record to 30-17
The Portland Evergreens bested the Charleston Battery, 4-2, at Charleston Armory. Bastiaan Pieterse was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Robert Smalls got credit for the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 6.2 innings. Branlyn Jaraba was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

With Portland leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Pieterse hit a fastball from Rafael Rivera for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Evergreens ahead, 3-0.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Pieterse said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."

The Evergreens have an impressive 30-17 record.
