Supernovas Come Back Late to Clip Lynx
|
Scranton second baseman Juan Tellado was instrumental in his team's 8-4 win over the Calgary Lynx. Tellado, who is tied for 8th in the PAAA in triples with 2, went 3-5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Supernovas. Scranton reliever Kent Phillips picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ramón Costello took the loss. The third-place Supernovas are now 28-22, the Lynx 20-30.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Zacarías Salazar came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Calgary pitcher Bill Edmonds, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Scranton on top, 5-4.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Salazar said.
