Whales Topple Ogres with Late Rally
The Virginia Beach Whales downed the Olympia Ogres, 8-4, at The Ogre Den. The Whales were led by Dave Thomas, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The second-place Whales have won 4 in a row.

Thomas contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Virginia Beach in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 4-3, Thomas took a cutter from Esteban Vásquez and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Whales to leap in front, 5-4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Thomas. "And not try to do too much."
