Laming Goes Off, But Belugas Win
|
Jayden Laming did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Texas Bronze Sox from losing, 7-6, to the Brinkley Belugas at Bronze Sox Park. Laming went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Brinkley goes to 26-23, Texas to 18-31.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Jung-joon Yi came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Texas pitcher Fernando Elías, he hit a 2-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Brinkley on top, 6-5.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Yi, "but we got it done."
