The Jersey City Tritons turned back the Texas Bronze Sox, 6-5, at Bronze Sox Park. Phil Oostermeer was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Jersey City reliever Raúl Romero picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Manuel Torres shouldered the loss. Kent Randall earned the save, his 11th.
Jersey City took a 6-5 lead on Jim Brown's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Texas pitcher Manuel Torres in the top of the ninth.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Oostermeer told the Jersey City Citizen.
Jersey City now owns a record of 20-27.
