Fog Fall Short, 7-6, at Calgary

The Calgary Lynx beat the Sunset District Fog, 7-6 at Lynx Stadium, in part due to left fielder Michael Ward, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 5 RBI. Calgary reliever Ramón Costello was the winner. His record is now 2-4. Paco Garza took the loss. Calgary is now 19-26, while Sunset District is 23-22.
In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Ward's contribution. The Calgary left fielder is a relative newcomer. With two out in the bottom of the seventh, when the Lynx had the bases loaded, Ward delivered a crucial 2-run single.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ward after the game.
