Tight Tilt Goes to Supernovas, 2-1
|
The Scranton Supernovas picked up a win at Ballpark of Port Royal, knocking off the Port Royal Disaster, 2-1. Starting pitcher Joaquín Pérez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pérez got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Pérez allowed 1 earned run. León Vallejo finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Scranton took a 2-1 lead on Mike Pate's 30th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Pate hit in the top of the seventh, left Port Royal pitcher Joe Louter shaking his head.
"We put together a nice win," Pérez said.
Scranton, now 25-20, holds second place in the Premier AAA.
