Evergreens Come Back Late to Clip Voodoo
|
The Evergreens faced a stiff challenge from New Orleans pitcher Sy-ing Tah, but persevered to claim a win at The Voodoo Lounge. The final score was 4-2. Tah went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was Mark Zaugg's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jorge Villanueva took the loss for New Orleans. The save went to Raúl Romero, his 10th this season.
Portland used the clutch hitting of Billy Dotson to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Evergreens ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I like the roll we're on," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
Portland has now won 6 games in a row.
