Biloxi withstood an impressive performance by Ithaca designated hitter Alaska Abney to defeat the Fighting Imps, 7-5, at The Pizza Oven. Abney went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Júlio del Bosque went 6 innings for Biloxi to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 2 earned runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. His record improves to 1-2. Orlando Hernández finished the game for Biloxi and earned his 3rd save.

Sydney, Australia-born Seb Blanch came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Shuckers trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Biloxi on top.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Blanch told the Biloxi Bulletin.
