Diéguez Leads Longnecks to Win
The Bloomington Longnecks beat the Brinkley Belugas, 9-4, at Belugas Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Manny Diéguez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bloomington now owns a record of 17-19.

Bloomington used the clutch hitting of Kensaku Hatayama to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Longnecks the lead, 5-4. For the game, Hatayama had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Diéguez told the Bloomington Gazette. "Whatever it takes."
