In a well-pitched game between the Bakersfield Nobles and the Port Royal Disaster, pitcher James Lendell Basford was fantastic. The Bakersfield right-hander was named the player of the game in Bakersfield's 1-0 win. In 6.1 innings, Basford surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Bakersfield took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Juan Macíel stroked a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Nobles.
