|
Scranton pitcher Félix Aluonado did his part in helping his team beat the Brinkley Belugas, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Aluonado, now 2-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. Butch Cummings earned his 7th save in 8 tries.
Had Jeff Quesenberry not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Quesenberry hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Supernovas.
"Félix is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Scranton manager Andha Gangulee.
Scranton is now 18-14, while Brinkley is 17-15.
