Harper Excels, But Eclipse Win
|
The Northville Eclipse outlasted Nick Harper and the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-6. Harper was impressive in the loss. The Tacoma shortstop went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Northville starter Ryson Polonius was credited with the win after throwing 108 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. The save went to Andrew Phillips, his 6th this season.
Northville relied on the hitting of Josip Primorac to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Eclipse on top, 3-0. For the game, Primorac had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Northville manager Thomas Kemp.
At 11-4, the Eclipse have played well so far.
