Loss to Youth Extends Lake Minnetonka Losing Streak
|
In a tight game between the Phoenix Hotspur Youth and the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, pitcher Felipe Filipe was terrific on the mound. The Phoenix Hotspur left-hander was named the player of the game in Phoenix Hotspur's 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Filipe, now 2-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. With their winning streak at 6, the Youth have raced to a strong start this season.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Sean Neely didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Lake Minnetonka trailing 3-1, Neely retired Kyle Mullens to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Neely, with a wink.
