Virginia Beach shortstop Richard Edwards made his presence felt in the 11-5 Whales triumph over the Lancaster Farmers. Edwards went 1-3 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Virginia Beach reliever Alonso Estrada picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Robert Alves absorbed the loss. Nicolaas de Jongh finished the game for Virginia Beach and earned his 2nd save.

Edwards went 1 for 3 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 against the Farmers. With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Virginia Beach in front, 6-5.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Virginia Beach manager Bernie Drake.
