Belugas Clip Lynx in Tight Contest

The Brinkley Belugas took Calgary pitcher Xiao-shuang Wong's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lynx Stadium. The final score had Brinkley getting past the Lynx, 3-0. Wong went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 6. The winner was Rafael Bernal in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Ramón Costello took the loss. The Belugas sit in second place in the Premier AAA with a record of 16-11.
Brinkley used the timely hitting of Travis Towns to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Belugas on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"What we get, we earn," Towns told the Brinkley Gazette.
