The Bloomington Longnecks got a sterling performance from pitcher Clarence Jones, but the Disaster still prevailed, 3-2. Jones was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Port Royal now has a 5-game win streak.

Port Royal took a 3-2 lead on Roberto Sánchez's 12th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Sánchez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Bloomington pitcher Ron Mingo shaking his head.

"We found a way to get it done," Sánchez said.
