Fur Traders Fall Short, 3-2, at Phoenix Hotspur
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 3-2, at Grenadiers Ballpark. Peer Kattenberg was named player of the game for Phoenix Hotspur. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Sean Neely picked up the save, his 1st. With the loss, Tacoma falls to 5-4.
The Fur Traders had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Youth going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Alfonso Ramírez came to the plate. Ramírez hit a run-scoring double on a 2-0 curveball from Tacoma hurler Michael Leonard. It was Ramírez's 1st double of the year.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Phoenix Hotspur manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
