The Bloomington Longnecks faced a tough opponent in Alaskan pitcher César Soto, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Sea World by a final score of 4-2. Soto went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Bloomington reliever Gerald Keller picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Will Kirby was saddled with the loss. With the loss, Alaskan falls to 12-7.

The Longnecks got a lift from center fielder Kensaku Hatayama who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning off Will Kirby. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Bloomington in front, 3-2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hatayama told the Bloomington Gazette.
